Paula DiPerna is a widely published author and pioneer of the nexus between finance and environmental policy, especially climate change. She served as President-International for the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), the world's first cap-and-trade system to stem greenhouse gas emissions; President of the Joyce Foundation, a major philanthropy; and writer/producer and Vice-President for International Affairs for The Cousteau Society, and underwater hero, Jacques-Yves Cousteau. In that capacity, she spearheaded the adoption of the Madrid Protocol to the landmark Antarctica Treaty, which established the status of Antarctica as a "natural reserve, devoted to science and peace," and prohibits "all activities relating to Antarctic mineral resources, except for scientific research."

Currently, she is Special Advisor to CDP, the world's only integrated public purpose environmental disclosure system. She is a member of the Womens Forum of New York, an affiliate of the International Womens Forum (IWF), and the Council on Foreign Relations and an She was awarded an Eisenhower Fellowship, as well as a Bellagio Center residency by the Rockefeller Foundation to further her work in environmental finance. Her most recent book, "Pricing the Priceless..." was listed on the Financial Times roster of "Best Summer Books: Economics."
